Since SLR is a member-run organization, we rely totally on the ideas, skills and donated time of our volunteers to help us grow and flourish.
If you would like to volunteer for a few hours (we often need on-going help for a few hours for such events as Program Previews and Open Houses) for a committee, as a member of the executive, or in any capacity whatsoever, please contact Diana Lloyd or Nancy Peters of the Volunteer Coordinating Committee at societyforlearning@bellnet.ca or leave a message at 519-438-3525 for more information. They will be able to tell you what opportunities exist, what is involved and who to contact.
Check here periodically to see what new opportunities are available!
We are currently looking for an Assistant to the Treasurer:
A member volunteer is required to audit the financial records of SLR for the fiscal year 2011/2 on behalf of the Board of Directors. Ideally the Volunteer will have Accounting Skills and be prepared to spend 2-3 hours sampling and verifying source documents for revenue, expenses and investments. An individual with no Accounting skills but having an aptitude for the work will receive guidance from a Professional Accountant.
