SLR London has a vast pool of experienced speakers who are willing and able to present topics of interest to other seniors. As a not-for-profit organization, SLR is mindful of fulfilling its civic duty, and the Community Outreach Program arranges for speakers to go to seniors’ residences for the intellectual benefit of its residents.
SLR can set up a schedule for up to four different presenters to speak every two weeks at fixed times and dates. We will do our best to present when it is convenient for you and your residents. In the past, Tuesdays at 2 p.m., have been the optimum time for most seniors’ residences. The presentations would last for one-half hour, followed by an equal amount of time for questions and discussion. A donation is requested, and a charitable receipt can be provided in return.
The benefits of being a member of SLR are numerous: interesting topics offered, exchange of opinions and invigorating discussions; love of learning; and intellectual stimulation to name a few. These benefits can be passed along to other seniors at their seniors’ residence.
If you would like to have more information, sample topics, or to arrange for our members to do a presentation, please contact Nancy Peters Coordinator of the Community Outreach Program c/o SLR at societyforlearning@bellnet.ca
